Chesterfield County Fire and EMS crews responded and managed to bring the flames under control in approximately 15 minutes.

Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

One resident was displaced and is receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.

Fire officials believe unattended cooking may have caused the blaze.

It's an important reminder for all of us, especially as we head into the busy holiday cooking season.

If you've got something cooking on the stove, stay in the kitchen and keep an eye on it. Even stepping away for a few minutes can create a dangerous situation.

A big thank-you to the Chesterfield firefighters and emergency responders who acted quickly to contain the fire and prevent further damage.

We're glad everyone made it out safely!
